Rolex Yacht-Master is both hard and classic, and as a typical navigation watch, its performance is beyond double. The first Yacht-Master was rolled out in 1992. In the 2012 Basel watch fair, Rolex’s ROLESIUM platinum Oyster Yacht-Master was developed with new technology and thus its performance is greatly improved in the strap, buckle and bezel. So what we look at today is a Rolex Yacht-Master and the official number is : 116622.
The whole watch is made of stainless steel and platinum which is applied in the bezel and that’s why the Yacht-Master is obviously higher than other Submariner watches. The diameter of the case reaches 40mm and silver dial, aperture at 3 o’clock are fitted with the symbolic Rolex bubble. Yacht-Master’s dimensional 60-minute’ bidirectional bezel is made of 950 platinum. And the dull-polished numbers and scales is highlighted for the convenience of calculating time, such as the time of passing two floating objects. Such bezel with a practical function make it different from others.
904L stainless steel is applied in the case and strap of this Rolex watch, and that’s why it is amazing in resisting corrosion and still has a good performance under such acid environments. And the of course that’s why it is much more expensive than other watches. The same classic case is used in the Yacht-Master. Oyster case is known for the excellent performance and reliability. In 1926, Rolex developed the first Oyster case and through the professional techniques, it tightens bezel, case back and winding crown in the middle layer of the case. Highly-sealed Oyster case is quite solid, which is a guarantee for the precision and protection for the movement from water, dust and pressure from the outside. Inside the watch, a Cal.3135, a classic movement, is applied in the Rolex Yacht-Master 116622 watch.
